On Track -NNJR’s “Intro to Driver’s Education”
On Track -NNJR’s “Intro to Driver’s Education”
Saturday, April 28, NJMP Lighting
Sponsored by Paul Miller Porsche
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to drive your Porsche on track? Here’s your chance; your opportunity to get your car on track in a low-pressure, fun-filled environment with one-on-one help from one of NNJR’s experienced instructors. This year, our Intro to DE will be a one-day event at the Lightning circuit at New Jersey’s Motorsports Park (NJMP) and will be held in conjunction with our regular two-day event.
Your day will begin with a Driver’s Meeting, followed by a classroom session geared specifically for first-time drivers. There you will learn the basics of car control and high-performance driving techniques, while also becoming familiar with the safety regulations. Then it’s time to get in your car for some fun car control exercises which will include acceleration and braking exercises, as well as a slalom course. After that, you’ll head to the track, where your instructor will take you out for several laps to familiarize you with the track layout. Next, it’s time for you to get in the driver’s seat and experience, first-hand, what it’s like to drive your car on track. Your instructor will be there to coach you step-by-step and will help you learn when to accelerate, brake and turn-in, all at a pace with which you are comfortable.
What do you need to bring? Just your car and a Snell “SA” 2010 or newer rated full-face helmet. Paul Miller will be providing lunch for all NNJR attendees that day.
