We continue our celebration of NNJR’s Anniversary year with a very special wine tasting…
Our theme this year features varietals from a region as significant and prestigious as our 65th-year milestone. A couple of million years ago, the region was covered by the sea which created the limestone and marl soil composition responsible for the coveted minerality in the wines. The region’s winemaking history dates back to around 50 BC, but it was the Benedictine and Cistercian monks that elevated the art of winemaking about a thousand years later.
Fast forward to today…wines from this region remain the most respected, notable, and sought-after. White and Red grapes produce flavor notes including peach, apple, citrus, fresh herbs, raspberry, blackberry, cherry, and spices.
